“What will we call him?”
“Yeah, shall we call him Harold?” “Or Bruce?” “Or Christopher Columbus?”
“How about Oatmeal?” ALL: “Oatmeal!?”
-Frosty the Snowman television special, 1969

This listing is for the PDF file of the knitting pattern for Oatmeal the Snowman. Oatmeal is knitted in the round on a set of four or five US size 10.5 double pointed needles from Cascade Lana Grande or a comparable super chunky yarn. His nose and arms are knitted on US size 3 double pointed needles in small amounts of worsted weight yarn. You will need orange and brown worsted weight yarn in small amounts, white super chunky yarn for his body, a contrasting color super chunky yarn for his scarf (I used a raisin color), polyester fiberfill stuffing, a pair of 1/2 inch black buttons to use as eyes, two 12" pipe cleaners to give his arms flexibility, and a yarn needle. The finished toy will be approximately 11" tall with an arm span of about 13". He would look great sitting on a mantle or as a gift for an older child. If you left the pipe cleaners out of his arms and sewed felt eyes on instead of buttons, he could be an appropriate softie for a baby or young child.
